Great Maple - 1451 Washington Street, San Diego 92103
Mmmmm, maple...Even if you aren't a fan of delicious, sweet maple, you'll find something to bite into during the weekend brunch at Great Maple. Of course, if you love maple as much I do, then your taste buds are in heaven once you dive right into a Maple Bacon Doughnut, a true delight for both doughnut and bacon lovers alike. Even your vegan friend can partake in the culinary fun with a Vegan Hash that combines cinnamon glazed sweet potatoes and pee wee potatoes with healthy minded charred kale, tomato, mushrooms, onion, garlic, avocado and cilantro. Try one of the creatively scrambled melts on the menu such as the omelet with fresh oysters, cherry smoked bacon, green onions, parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
Hash House A Go Go - 3628 5th Ave San Diego, CA 92103
I LOVE Hash House A Go Go in Hillcrest, and so do many others, judging by the typical wait time for a seat. Once you get a table however, you'll find that the wait is totally worth it. Get ready to enjoy a fun atmosphere with DJs spinning the music that pairs nicely with the large portion brunch plates. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but if you're a first timer, I suggest going for what made them famous, the House Hashes. Try the House Hash featuring their locally famous meatloaf, roasted red peppers, fresh spinach and smoked mozzarella. When you're really hungry, try the 18oz Indiana Hand Hammered Pork Tenderloin Benedict featuring a fresh split biscuit crowned with market yellow tomato, fresh spinach, bar b' que cream and basted eggs. All this food goes down perfectly with a beautifully prepared Bloody Mary. Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!
St. Mark Golf Club Grille - 1750 San Pablo Dr, San Marcos, CA 92078
If you're up in the North County, treat yourself to a Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet with bottomless Mimosas served with a view of the beautifully manicured golf course at St. Marks. Bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, pancakes, or my personal favorite, Eggs Benedict - it's all here and served with generous pours of Champagne, with no limit. Once you've had your fill, you might want to walk off the buzz with an easy stroll around Lake San Marcos.
